About

The Royal Academy of Arts is a unique organisation – one that remains true to its origins in 1768 as a place where art is made, exhibited and debated. Its mission is simple: to be a clear, strong voice for art and artists. The RA is an independent charity led by eminent artists and architects such as such as Richard Rogers, Tracey Emin and David Hockney, as elected by their peers. They continue to pass on their skills and knowledge to future generations through the RA Schools, the only free postgraduate art school in Europe. The RA hosts a programme of exhibitions and lectures which are open to public, in the heart of Mayfair.
